Art Franks’ misleading, ugly, and mean-spirited attack ad on Joe Nole reveals his true colors; it has all the markings of a Trump Republican.

Do you really want this type of vindictiveness and nastiness in our sheriff’s office? What would the morale be like under this type of person?

Joe Nole has the dignity to run on his own merit — he does not stoop to trashing his opponent. He knows our community and has the respect of his personnel.

Same for Kelbon’s nasty mailer. She, as an independently wealthy person who made a lot of money off her company despite poor shareholder results, attacks the sensible pay increase for commissioners who spend hours upon hours on real community issues? I suppose she only wants wealthy people in control, like most republicans.

I hear the triggering words of Trump and Republicans being thrown around. What exactly is a Trump Republican? Both parties in this matter are registered democrats! Why would one say these two democratic parties are using republican strategies? It sounds like some folks can’t let it go and Trump still lives rent free in your heads. Posts like this, regardless of the two candidates have nothing to do with Republicans or Trump but here you are blaming them! All it does it keep putting our citizens into groups of us and them! Amazing how our tolerant and welcoming community responds to this! Same community that would consider the words “don’t tread on me” as racist yet has a mayor and citizens who consistently spew out the term NIMBY “not in my back yard”! Seems a bit hypocritical! But I’m sure this is still somehow Trump Republicans faults. Vote on policy not the person.

Art Frank is a Democrat, not a Trump Republican.

Art's campaign ads are factually accurate and meticulously documented.

Art is running to remedy leadership and performance failures at JCSO. As the challenger in the race, Art must inform the public of those failures so citizens can cast informed votes. This is a service to voters. Telling the truth is neither vindictive nor nasty.

Joe's failures are ugly, but that's not Art's fault. If the truth hurts, the solution is to improve JCSO performance and leadership. Joe had his chance. On his watch, JCSO declined.

We should thank Art for alerting us to Joe's failures, consider Art's excellent solutions, and then vote accordingly.

So a Biden Democrat? Is anyone better off than they were two years ago? Asking for a friend!

Codex, that's exactly what it is, a "triggering" or a "hot-button" term used by those who bought into the mainstream media's war on Trump which started before he even took office. According to the MSM Trump was every possible incarnation of evil, Trump was a Republican, therefore, guilt by association and every Republican is a "Trump Republican". It's another form of ignorant bigotry used by people who are too lazy or too stupid to form a convincing argument.

While I agree that the original letter writer didn't need to bring politics into the equation, the fact remains that Mr. Frank's campaign is one of the most negative I have ever seen in The Leader. To me, that attitude effectively negates whatever else he is trying to say. I don't really care which party he represents in this case., but he has shot himself in the foot politically.

Trump registered as a Republican in Manhattan in 1987, switched to the Reform Party in 1999, the Democratic Party in 2001, and back to the Republican Party in 2009.
