Port Townsend, Washington
Dec. 19, 1945-Aug. 9, 2014
Marguerite Olson passed away peacefully on Aug. 9, 2014, surrounded by her family at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington.
She was born on Dec. 19, 1945 to Jack and Geraldine Lynch in San Francisco, California, and was raised in Seattle, the third of seven children.
Marge married Steve Olson in 1966. They were married for 18 years. She had two children, Dena Marie and Richard Allen, and raised them in Everett, Washington.
Marge worked as a certified nursing assistant and receptionist in nursing homes. Her family says that her compassion for helping the elderly was inspiring.
Marge moved to Port Townsend 14 years ago. She lived for two years with her sister Mary, then moved to San Juan Commons, where she made many friends, whom she dearly loved.
Marge loved bingo, "Wheel of Fortune," Wii bowling, animals and conversation. She truly loved all people.
Marge is survived by her daughter Dena (Mike), son Richard (Michelle); grandchildren Isaac and Ashton; five siblings Mary, Cliff, Jay, Barb and Jackie; and by many loving friends.
A celebration of her life takes place at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6 at San Juan Commons, 3300 San Juan Ave., Port Townsend.
In lieu of flowers or cards, the family requests donations be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society in honor of Marge Olson.
