I read with amusement the “Live life to the fullest ...” a “famed quote” attributed to Einstein used to inspire works of art at the Northwind Gallery. I doubt that Albert Einstein spent lot of time creating and spouting aphorisms. Curious about the attribution, I did a rapid search for the quote first at: en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Albert_Einstein.
The quote is not there. Then I searched the Princeton University Press book, “The Ultimate Quotable Einstein.” The quote is not there either. The quote is easily available on sites marketing posters with “inspirational” quotes. These companies may be able to metaphysically channel Einstein and others to obtain pithy quotes, a route not available to ordinary researches.
My favorite quote to attribute to Einstein, which I expect to find in my spam folder at the beginning of next April is: “I have probably suffered more misquotes and misattributions than any other genius in the history of mankind.” - Albert Einstein
