Are folks noticing what I am? The degree of trash and litter across our county is immense, sad, and disgusting. We are starting to look like a Third World country. How can we allow and stand for this desecration of our sacred landscape?
We are a community that embraces our land, open space, agriculture, and waters. Thus we must take action when there are forces that threaten these fundamental elements of our cultural identity and well-being.
I call on our county commissioners to take charge on this very important topic. A small investment could create jobs for cleanup. Other measures would ideally help prevent this problem in the future.
When residents love where they live they don’t want to harm it and are empowered to protect it. How can we increase the love for our lands?
