Lillian Flytlie Johnston, 99, slipped away to heaven on Tuesday morning, January 9, 2024 at Poulsbo Washington, one month short of her 100th birthday.

Lillian was born February 8, 1924 in Seattle, Washington to Harold Lyman Johnson and Lola Flytlie Johnson joining sisters Helen and Gladys and brother Carl. She attended school with Carl at the one room Nordland school, later moving on to Chimacum, graduating high school there in 1941. She attended business school in Seattle majoring in business and accounting. She briefly worked for the Post Office Department in Seattle before taking a job with the State as an accounting assistant at the Fircrest School in North Seattle. She later became the Chief Accountant, retiring in 1992.

Lillian married Paul Wesley Johnston at the Nordland Church on January 18, 1947. They divorced in 1966. Her daughter Kristina Alane was born in 1950 followed by her son Keith Alan in 1952. In 1950, they purchased the family home in North Seattle and she lived there for 70 years before moving to an assisted living facility in Poulsbo in 2019.

She loved gardening and spent countless hours caring for her huge yard. She also loved feeding the birds that frequently visited her yard, but not the squirrels that ate all the bird seed they could hold.

Lillian loved to travel and traveled extensively throughout the world, visiting Europe, Central and South Americas as well as most countries in the Middle and Far East.

Lillain is survived by her children Kristina (James) and Keith (Annie), her granddaughters Noella and Lola, her grandson Zachary (Maria), two great-grandsons and one great-great grandson along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her grandson, Isaiah, preceded her in death.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Linde-Price funeral home in Sequim and Kosec funeral home in Port Townsend. Internment was in the Johnson family plot at the Soundview Cemetery on Marrowstone Island on February 3, 2024.
