We would like to applaud the Port of Port Townsend commissioners for talking to other organizations looking for options to help with the development and sustainability of Point Hudson.
It is interesting that the Northwest Maritime Center is excited to be a partner, but we are not sure that we understand why there seems to be an urgency to an agreement.
We need to slow down and wait for the consultants’ reports that each organization has procured, before making decisions.
We trust the commissioners to not “sell out” to private businesses that would change the “funky” appeal of Port Townsend. They are very much aware of their responsibility to the community and all of Jefferson County to our values.
We are happy that this process is being discussed openly.
