I am a mentor to a fourth-grader at Chimacum Elementary School.
I have been doing it for about three months, meeting once a week. It has been a great experience for me and I hope also for my young buddy.
We have fun and play board games like Sorry and chess. The YMCA program is not like Big Brothers, and we only meet at school.
I won’t mention my buddy’s name, but he seems to enjoy the time we spend together. I found the training provided by the “Y” very thorough, and the secretary at Chimacum School has been very thoughtful and helpful.
