Letter: Help with housing: Nest Egg Project

In response to the urgent need for affordable housing in Jefferson County we have initiated The Nest Egg Project.

There is a housing crisis in Jefferson County. Proposition 1 may not pass. We must consider other options such as committing collectively to support the recently reorganized community housing trust – Homeward Bound.

Homeward Bound’s mission is to provide affordable, sustainable homes in perpetuity. If the levy (which could potentially have provided them with some support) does not pass, we commit to donate to Homeward Bound the amount we would have been taxed.

Our intention is to recruit 1,000 people to join us in The Nest Egg Project.

We ask everyone who can to join us in our support for housing for all. Find us on Facebook. Let’s do this.
