Last week we heard another rousing performance of the middle school and high school orchestras to a packed high school auditorium. We were there to see our grandson play, and to hear the musical progression from 6th grade on up was impressive. This weekend the high school placed 3rd in its division at a competition in Bellingham! Music is great for students; it requires team-building, practice, and diligence. Research says it boosts academics, too. Music director Daniel Furland is a maestro!
Thanks also to Carrie Ehrhardt, principal, the board, and the superintendent for giving students the resources they need for music.
Next year we won’t have either kids or grandkids in school but we plan to keep on going to hear the wonderful music these students play!
