I am supporting Marcia Kelbon for Jefferson County Commissioner District 3.
On the local level I vote for the best candidate and clearly Marcia is an exceptional candidate.
She has been a West Sound and canal resident since 1981. She has a B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering and a J.D. from the UW school of law. She is also a patent attorney. She is also a mother and grandmother and married for 42 years.
She has been involved with numerous civic groups like Make A Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Girl Scouts, Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group, and other groups.
If we vote her in, we get an excellent attorney, a chemical engineer, budgeting experience, assisting startups, and more.
The Jefferson Democratic Party has not always represented the best interest of the residents. New talent and people are needed. The economy of Jefferson County needs to broaden out its tax base and create high paying jobs to take the financial pressure off of property owners.
I strongly encourage voters to vote for Marcia Kelbon for County Commissioner District 3.
Best wishes from a lifelong Democrat and political activist.

As one Democrat to another, shame on you, James. Her business leadership was poor. In addition to tons of other high pay over the years, she received 210K stock options on joining Omeros worth about $3.5M on her departure, for one of the worst US IPOs that year, and a stock price only about 50% higher after about a decade (now trading below the IPO price). And she wanted to remove commissioner pay so only wealthy people like her could afford to be on the commission?! She makes all kinds of references on her website to the Constitution, which clarifies exactly what kind of “moderate Republican” she really is. She promotes second amendment rights in an era of endless mass shootings. Ask her about abortion and gay rights. If you want to get a sense of the kind of “moderate Republicans” Marcia attracts, just peruse some of the Facebook postings from people who “liked” on the Elect Marcia Kelbon page. Don’t be fooled - we need better than Marcia.

“ I am concerned about the advance of a Seattle-style socialist agenda and subversion of traditional American norms observed at all levels of government, including locally” said Kelbon in her press release covered in Peninsula Daily news. Does that sound “moderate Republican”?
