So Port Townsend government is about to give raises to the council members and mayor. Also county employees all get “hazard pay.”
But what about the poor, the ones that get minimum wage for doing essential jobs like food service workers, grocery workers, healthcare workers? Why won’t the council and the commissioners increase minimum wage or hazard pay requirement for people in our city/county? Why will they not help those in great need?
Where are these citizen representatives when the people who keep this community fed and healthy are in need? Why do they not understand that it is time for them to act?
I earlier asked them for answers to this sort of question and received none. Why will they not tell us the reasons for keeping the poor down in our town?
