Jefferson Transit is set to purchase a Gillig plug-in charger for electric buses and vehicles, at a cost of approximately $86,000.
The Jefferson Transit Authority Board unanimously approved the purchase at its mid-month meeting, and the source of funding is from the transit municipality’s 2023 capital reserve fund.
The actual charger will cost Jefferson Transit $73,200, while delivery fees, the three-year service plan, and other costs will bring the purchase up to the $86,461 mark.
