Jefferson Healthcare has started a new graduate Nurse Residency Program to attract qualified individuals to Jefferson County.
The 12-month transition-to-practice program will combine clinical experience, didactic education, and simulation to prepare and nurture new registered nurse graduates.
Departments participating in the program include Acute and Intensive Care Units, Family Birth, Emergency, Surgical Services, and Home Health.
Applications, resumes, and cover letters will be accepted through Jefferson Healthcare’s online job portal through March 31. Applicants are expected to be interviewed in April and questions can be emailed to education@jeffersonhealthcare.org.
Jefferson Healthcare said residents in the program will have foundational phases in which they practice under the direct supervision of an experienced nurse preceptor to receive mentoring, support, and training.
As full-time paid employees, the nurses will work various shifts and receive ongoing educational opportunities. Jefferson Healthcare will ask for a two-year commitment from the nurses after the completion of the residency.
