The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 233 calls for service between Friday, Feb. 17 and Friday, Feb. 24. Below are selected reports.
At 10:02 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 in Port Hadlock, a woman reported a burglary to her storage unit.
Someone cut the lock off, and the hasp was found on the ground nearby. The woman said her unit had been locked as recently as a week ago, but when she arrived, she discovered the lock had been cut.
The woman said it was apparent that someone had gone through her belongings. A deputy took fingerprints from the cut lock.
The woman said she was missing a full-face helmet and a small motorcycle helmet, and black leather vest and chaps. The loss was estimated at $2,350.
At 4:17 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 in Nordland, a resident reported a theft that occurred sometime between 3 and 5 p.m. the day before.
Two dozen eggs had been taken from a self-serve egg stand, and $20 in cash was also stolen.
There are no suspects.
At 1:09 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19 in Port Hadlock, a resident reported an unwanted person on their property.
The caller could see a tent and believed a transient had set up camp. The resident wanted them removed.
A deputy contacted the camper and told the person to move along. The resident was OK with allowing the person 24 hours to remove their belongings.
