The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 369 calls for service between Saturday, March 18 through Friday, March 24. Below are selected reports.

At 11:29 a.m. Monday, March 20 in Port Ludlow, a resident reported the theft of large flower pots that had been taken from the front yard near the mailbox.

Missing was a 20-gallon pot and a 10-gallon blue, glazed ceramic pot.

The pots had been filled with dirt and were valued at $75.

The resident did not want to file a report but wanted authorities to know about the theft because it was strange. The resident ordered game cameras to be installed.

At 12:55 p.m. Monday, March 20 in Port Ludlow, a caller saw a hypodermic needle on the side of the road near White Rock Lane.

A deputy walked the area but did not find the item.

At 2:40 p.m. Monday, March 20 in Port Hadlock, a man said he returned to his truck in the parking lot of the grocery store to find an open door and his keys missing.

He also said his vape pen was gone.

The man said a suspicious man in the neighborhood was likely the culprit.

The suspect had been seen on a bike with big wheels, smoking with a vape pen.

The caller got a spare key so he could drive his truck home.

At 11:29 a.m. Monday, March 20 in Port Hadlock, an unwanted person was reported near the upper ballfields on Elkins Road.

The person was a transient who was living in a van. The caller said the man was sleeping there while children were nearby playing baseball.

The man agreed to leave the area.

At 9:11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21 in Port Ludlow, a woman said she had been threatened by another person who lives across the street.

The incident happened on Saturday, and the woman said she heard the neighbor talking on the phone in a loud voice. The man said, “I can’t wait to get rid of that dog.”

The woman told authorities the man on the phone was yelling, but she wasn’t sure if he was talking about her dog or the one that he owns.
