The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 312 requests for service between Friday, Jan. 20 and Friday, Jan. 27. Below are selected reports.
At 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Quilcene, a caller complained of a dog bite on a forearm.
The caller works in California, but said he was told to report the incident in the county where the dog was located.
The caller said the dog was still in quarantine.
At 9:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Port Ludlow, a caller reported getting a threatening text message from a neighbor.
A deputy reviewed the text message and it did not include and threats to bodily harm or property damage. The caller was advised to apply for an anti-harassment order if the person thought one was needed.
At 10:28 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Quilcene, a resident reported a metal gate that had been damaged by a neighbor.
The metal gate was then removed from the property, sometime around Thanksgiving.
The caller also wanted to talk to a deputy about a vicious dog in the neighborhood.
At 3:36 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 in Port Ludlow, a resident reported the theft of a package from Amazon that had been delivered at 3 p.m.
A white truck was seen in the area at the time of the theft.
A deputy who followed up on the call found a motor home in the neighborhood that appeared to have other items that were also stolen from Amazon, and a pickup that matched a video of a suspicious truck in the neighborhood.
The pickup had been reported stolen earlier that day in Pierce County.
The suspect in the case is believed to have taken packages from other addresses in Port Ludlow.
At 7:52 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 in Port Hadlock, a person at a restaurant was having issues with another person at the business and she was in fear for her safety.
The caller said there was an ongoing issue of the other woman pounding on her door and shouting obscenities.
The caller said she had earlier called the woman “crazy,” but in a joking way. The other woman did not appreciate the comment.
A deputy determined that no assault had taken place and no other crime appeared to have been committed.
The deputy said the woman should contact the manager of the restaurant and have the manager deal with the dispute.
