The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 230 calls for service between Saturday, June 11 and Friday, June 17. Below are selected reports.
t 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 15 in Port Hadlock, a bicycle was reported stolen from the smoke shed near the Old Alcohol Plant Inn.
The owner of the bike said it was a chopper-style bike. It was further described as a Schwinn Sting Ray with a gas motor.
Someone with a red Dodge truck appeared to be assisting in the theft, the victim said.
At 11:32 a.m. Thursday, June 16 in Brinnon, a county roads employee reported the theft of a backpack leaf blower that was stolen from a county vehicle.
At 3:12 p.m. Thursday, June 16 in Quilcene, a caller reported an incident of malicious mischief.
Someone put a foreign substance in the hydraulic fluid system of a Caterpillar excavator.
A test of the fluid in the excavator found that water had been put into the system.
The caller needed to report it for insurance purposes.
There are no suspects.
At 6:31 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 in Nordland, a caller said a tenant was refusing to leave.
The woman had been renting a guest house and was given an eviction notice three days earlier.
The caller said the woman had been drinking or was high on something, but had not made any threats and no assault had occurred.
The caller had asked the woman to leave but she would not. She was sitting on a couch in the caller’s home.
The man did not feel comfortable in leaving her alone in the house.
A deputy responded and contacted both of the parties.
The woman was told she could not go into someone else’s home without the permission of the resident.
The woman wanted to argue about living arrangements, and the deputy finally gave her a courtesy ride to Port Hadlock.
