The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 252 calls for service between Friday, Dec. 30 and Friday, Jan. 6. Below are selected reports.

At 6:36 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 in Port Ludlow, a resident called about an angry neighbor.

The neighbor, who had gotten a restraining order against the caller, was upset about the caller’s barking dogs.

The caller said the neighbor was now staring at  him and his family and his dogs. She was outside screaming at him to stop shooting at her house.

The caller said the woman was lying. She continued to scream at the top of her lungs, and the caller said he was not shooting at her and didn’t have the ability to shoot at her.

He complained “he was in the middle of these weirdo people who have issues.”

The caller wanted the incident documented and said the neighbor was slandering his name and maybe he would file a lawsuit. He said he was being harassed and “it’s all a lie.”

The man said the neighbor was trying to draw him out of his house and get a reaction so he would violate the court order and be in legal trouble.

At 1:09 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1 in Port Hadlock, an employee at the Old Alcohol Plant said a man who had run out of gas was in the parking lot and had threatened to “beat his ass.”

As the man was leaving the parking lot, he was calling the employee a variety of foul names and saying other horrible things about the worker.

A deputy responded but the person in the parking lot had left.

At 6:17 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1 in Nordland, a property owner called after getting a third-hand report that his house had been broken into; a neighbor had told the caller that a window to the home was broken.

The caller was in Port Townsend and said he was heading to the property.

A deputy arrived and found no one inside the residence. A window on the southeast side of the home was pried open.

The victim was instructed to make a list of any missing items, and was given options to deter future break-ins.
