The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 252 calls for service between Friday, Dec. 30 and Friday, Jan. 6. Below are selected reports.

At 9:27 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 in Port Hadlock, a caller reported a theft.

The caller was in a hospital in Skagit County and said that someone who had recently visited the caller’s home noticed things were missing.

A deputy contacted the victim, and learned the missing items had already been reported stolen, or were items taken from the victim outside of Jefferson County.

At 11:21 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 in Port Hadlock, a woman reported a burglary in progress.

The woman said she could see her possessions in the thief’s car, and also said they did not have permission to be there and had taken parts off of her truck.

The pair were in her trailer without her permission, and she said there was going to be a “bloodbath” if police didn’t show up.

The woman told a deputy she was a “legal squatter” on the property. She also said she believed the county had auctioned off the property and there was a new owner.

A deputy responded and was told someone broke into the woman’s trailer and ransacked it. Two other people were at the scene and the woman accused them of being the culprits.

She also said she found most of her things, but not all of her possessions, in a laundry basket that had been placed outside the trailer.

One of the two people on the property allowed the woman to look in their truck, but there was nothing in the truck that belonged to the woman.

One of the pair, a man, admitted to going inside a truck the woman said she owned but said he was looking for a bolt to borrow.

The woman was told she would have to make a list of anything stolen so a theft report could be completed.

The squatter was told she could seek an anti-harassment order if she was concerned that she would be contacted again.

At 4:29 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 in Forks, a man said he was attacked by a woman while he was on the Hoh Indian Reservation.

There was a bad connection for the call and it ended abruptly, but it was not clear if the caller hung up or the call was dropped. A deputy tried to call back but was unsuccessful.

A deputy responded to the home of the caller, and found people in the garage working on crabbing equipment. They said everything was OK and law enforcement assistance was not needed.
