The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 244 calls for service between Friday, Nov. 11 and Friday, Nov. 18. Below are selected reports.

At 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16 in Port Ludlow, a caller said a real estate sign had been vandalized after someone painted a pink swastika on it not far from the highway on Oak Bay Road.

The caller wanted to report it so the person who caused the damage would not have the  satisfaction of offending anyone.

A deputy notified the owner of the sign.

At 7:26 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 in Nordland, a man said someone shot out the window of his vehicle.

A deputy found bullet holes in the driver’s side door and a broken window.

The owner said he had “a plethora of possible suspects.”

The damage was estimated at $3,000.

At 8:04 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 in Port Ludlow, a man said he had gotten threatening text messages from a woman who wanted him to send her money.

He was getting text messages on Snapchat that included videos of people getting shot, and other images of violent gore.

The woman demanded that he cash a check at his bank, but the caller said he found out it was a scam and got his money back.

The scam appeared to have originated overseas. A deputy told the man he should block the number.

At 3:13 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 in Quilcene, an open-line 911 call was made.

Eventually, a woman came onto the line. She said someone hit her three times in the face, and that the assailant was drunk and just left in a beige Dodge truck.

The caller said another woman struck her with her fists and an open hand, and there was an ongoing dispute over the woman not paying her rent.

The caller also said the woman had set fire to a fence post, and when the caller went to take a picture, the other woman hit her.

The woman was later arrested for fourth-degree assault.

At 8:07 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 in Port Hadlock, a woman said her estranged husband was making threats.

She said he was known to carry a weapon but had not brandished it.

She said her ex was making up things in order to get to her, and that he is using drugs and acting erratically.

The woman said she was seeking a divorce and is applying for a court order against her ex-husband.

At 11:32 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 in Port Ludlow, a caller reported a missing person who had not been seen or heard from for more than two weeks.

A deputy investigated and determined the missing person was in treatment.
