Another Jefferson County resident has passed away from COVID-19, public health officials reported Wednesday.
The death marks the 17th fatality in the county from the disease.
Jefferson County has had 1,087 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since March 2, 2020.
A total of 31 new coronavirus cases have been reported in the county in the past week.
County health officials said 30 active cases were in isolation Wednesday.
As of Oct. 20, one resident was still hospitalized due to COVID-19. Jefferson County has had 67 cumulative cases of residents hospitalized because of the coronavirus.
According to Jefferson County Public Health, 69.9 percent of the county's population is fully vaccinated.
