I moved here from Houston 10 years ago because I wanted to live in a small town where people knew and cared about each other. I have been proud of the way Port Townsend requests people to mask up in a polite way. The fact that so many people comply with this request is reflected in the low number of cases of COVID in our county. Everyone knows this is the way to avoid community spread of the virus.
Apparently the removal of my campaign signs wasn’t just a prank by some teenage boys. It seems the political landscape is so divisive at this point that one side literally cannot tolerate seeing the opinion of anyone else. Not only can they not tolerate it, but they’re compelled to dismantle anything that they don’t agree with.
I’m saddened by your anger and hostility.
