In celebration of the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris Jan. 20, a group of about 60 people gathered at Pope Marine Park in Port Townsend to cheer on the new administration during their first day in office.
Many of the supporters gathered at the park were carrying signs and voiced their sentiments of optimism as they looked to the future, following an insurrection at the nation's capital that left five dead.
Three hours after Biden and Harris’ swearing-in ceremony in Washington D.C., Jefferson County residents gathered at the downtown park to cheer passing cars, play music, wave flags and carry signs bearing messages that included “Thank you Georgia” and “Everything is going to be alright.”
