...sometimes the abyss photobombs back.

At the risk of irritating those who get it by explaining; it's Nietzsche, Friedrich Nietzsche; and a takeoff from his quote, "Whoever fights monsters must see to it that, in the process, he does not become a monster. And, if one gazes long enough into the abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."

I had the idea first, but wanted to get the quote correct. In researching, Nietzsche, I found many other great quotes. He seemed to enjoy turning ideas around and over, has a few good ones on God, not fully understanding a God who is always looking for praise, another on God and dancing. Evidently Friedrich was fond of dancing.

He also said, if one is to be willing to love his enemies, he may also have to be willing to hate his friends. Hmmm. Love our enemies. That's always been a tough one; so antithetical to our nature. This is Jesus, turning ideas on their heads. So simple; yet so difficult to even come close to actually doing. Help the poor. Yeah, but that can't include those folks, some who look perfectly able to work, standing their near the most convenient exit with their cardboard signs. Rich people and heaven... yeah; another tough concept.

Whoa; almost did some abyss-gazing. I better get back to worrying about work and money, maybe check out what's going on on the Sunday morning political shows. Oh, Nietzsche also said true insanity is actually rare in individuals, but in governments and parties, it's the norm. Monstrous.
