Howard D Hendrickson of Port Townsend, Washington, died April 23, 2023, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Lyn) to whom he was married for 67 years; sons Bill and Doug; daughter Gail; and granddaughter Johanna. He was 92 years old.

After graduating from Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania, with an administrative engineering degree and serving in the Army, he worked many years as a professional engineer in the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In addition to his work as a consultant to the backflow industry, he was the principal instructor of backflow courses for the New England Water Works Association. He authored the 1989 revision of the Federal EPA Cross Connection Control Manual.

He sang in the Christ Church, Exeter, New Hampshire choir for many years, and after retiring to Washington state played the slide trombone as a member of the Port Townsend Summer Band.

In addition to music, his interests included boating, bridge playing, and model railroading.
