Housing network to host housing forum for city council candidates

While not technically permitted by the county yet, the tiny houses at Peter’s Place in Port Hadlock have already begun housing residents. Organizers of the project are working to bring the village up to code.

In a partnership with the six candidates currently running for the Port Townsend City Council, the Housing Solutions Network will be hosting a candidate forum to address local housing issues Saturday,
July 17.

The event will examine the spectrum of affordable housing and homeless issues facing Port Townsend, as well as a special focus on the issue of workforce housing.

The public are invited to attend the event, which will take place from 3 to
5 p.m. at Port Townsend’s Cotton Building.

The fourm will also be broadcast on KPTZ 91.9 FM and via a Facebook live stream on the Housing Solutions Network’s page.

The public can submit questions ahead of the event via www.housingsolutions
network.org.

The candidates for Position 1 are Ben Thomas and Cameron Jones; Position 2, Aislinn Diamanti; Position 5, Sky Hardesty-Thompson, Tyler Myles Vega and Libby Urner Wennstrom.
