Hope in our hearts that justice will prevail | Letter to the editor

This letter is to praise the resilience of all plants and flowers which have returned to greet our eyes with brilliant beauty.

What a long, dark winter for those of us who do not fly away but stay taking care of our dogs, cats, and homes with love and determination to keep things alive.

As the pandemic seems to be easing here we, too, come out of our rooms to wake early and see the sunrise and watch eagles soar through the air.

And the joyful robin whose red breast is lovely.

Yes, spring comes with the season of miracles, surprises, laughter, dark chocolate Easter eggs, yellow marshmallow bunnies, school vacations.

Yet the war in Ukraine rages on without mercy on innocent people, just trying to live their lives in freedom. It’s difficult to celebrate spring and realize the other violence of war happening.

But we must keep hope in our hearts and minds that justice will prevail soon as much as we know that after long dark gray days the sun will return.
