The Jefferson County Historical Society will be closed through February for a renovation project on the museum’s front doors.
Port Townsend-based millwork company Rain Shadow Woodworks will head the project to revamp the museum’s front entrance doors.
The entrance faces the shoreline to the south, leaving it open to weathering from heavy winds coming from the water, museum officials said. With failing seals around the windows and exposed bare wood that’s cracked in certain spots, the doors are in need of repair.
The museum will remain closed for the next two months and is expected to reopen March 3, but the research center will stay open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday
