The recent letters in regards to Bob Domin’s hyperbolic comments about Republicans and evangelicals may have been well intentioned, but the fact remains that the GOP, in many ways, has become a rogue and extremist political party.

Bolstered by a right-wing media that is prone to lie and confuse their audience at nearly every turn, the current crop of Republicans in Washington are posing a danger to women’s rights, environmental issues, racial and immigration concerns, health and safety issues, etc.

They are breaking democratic norms at a blinding speed with little concern about the integrity of the offices they hold or the blighted legacy they              are leaving.

Vandalism and harassment aren’t acceptable ways of voicing one’s opposition to the scoundrel who is currently the president, and his enablers in the GOP, who have sold their souls to this thoroughly corrupt and incompetent man.

We are living in an extraordinarily disorienting times that demand vigorous opposition to the things that are wrong with our government. Our democracy, or what’s left of it, may depend on it.

The spectre of Fascism should chill our collective souls to the bone and hopefully spur people of conscience of every political persuasion to act and speak out especially at the ballot box.
