Our current Jefferson County Prosecutor Michael Haas has 30 years of experience as a prosecutor and defense attorney.
His opponent, Mr. Kennedy, has a fraction of the prosecutorial experience and zero experience as a criminal defense attorney.
A more extensive background in practicing criminal law for both prosecution and defense helps provide a more balanced wealth of experience to draw on in dispensing justice in Jefferson County.
Mr. Kennedy seems to share this view.
At a recent Jefferson County Democrats meeting he spoke up (not as a candidate) about Washington State Supreme Court Justice Steven Gonzalez, who is up for re-election. Mr. Kennedy pointed out that many of the current Justices on our Supreme Court have little or no experience with criminal law. He urged us to vote for Justice Gonzalez because of his years of experience practicing criminal law.
Let’s apply the same logic in re-electing Michael Haas for Jefferson County Prosecutor.
