Jefferson County Soccer Club provides a shining example throughout the region. As the end of the year approaches, I would like to express my appreciation for the sportsmanship of the coaches, players, and parents of our small but mighty local soccer club.

In addition to being the treasurer of the board, I’m also a parent. Watching these weekly matches each fall has become a tradition for our family. Over the years I have seen the positive impacts of this club on many of our players.

Our volunteer coaches, the players, and even the families consistently impress me week in and week out. Win or lose, our players look out for each other, offer words of encouragement, and give it their all. Life is full of challenges. How our club deals with these challenges helps teach our kids how to work together and have fun in the face of adversity — skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.

In spite of our relatively small community, this grass-roots, nonprofit organization generates some of the most competitive teams in our division. Each week I am so proud of this club. So, I’d like to share my heartfelt gratitude to all of the coaches, players, and families for providing such an impactful experience for my family.

Let’s keep this momentum going. If anyone in the community would like to see youth soccer continue in Jefferson County, join us for one Zoom meeting per month to ensure that every kid in our community who wants to play soccer gets to play next year. This small commitment will have a huge impact on  the kids and countless benefits for our entire community.
