Glenn Allen Oman, beloved father, grandfather and brother passed away in the early morning of Feb. 8, 2023, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after suffering a stroke. His children and family were comforted by the fact that Glenn eased into his next journey peacefully.

Glenn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Feb. 4, 1958, to parents Curtis and Janice, the fifth of their seven children. The family moved to North Pole, Alaska in 1969 where Glenn attended junior high school and high school in Fairbanks, Alaska. Glenn met Karla Kent of North Pole and they married in Juneau, Alaska. The first of their three children, Kristina, was born in Juneau and son, Justin and youngest daughter Daniell were born after their relocation to Santa Barbara, California. Glenn spent most of his life in Santa Barbara where he eventually retired from the City of Santa Barbara in 2012.

Glenn enjoyed the sunny California climate and beautiful West Coast. He traveled and knew the area well and could describe in detail the coastline, beaches, small towns and one of his favorite locations, the Redwoods. He enjoyed camping in this area and found it peaceful. He had a love of music, was an avid reader and motivated in expanding his knowledge on many subjects. He also had a keen interest in vintage automobiles and frequented classic car shows and would pour over the latest copies of old car magazines. However, Glenn's most enthusiastic and greatest passion in life was his three children. His hobbies were secondary to the needs and time spent with them. He was a typical father in that he was often giving advice, counsel, and sharing his pearls of wisdom. A recent conversation comes to mind where his kids spoke of this "torture" while growing up but lovingly said, "You know, Dad was right."

After retirement, Glenn headed to Arizona and spent time with his eldest daughter Kristina and was contemplating where he would settle into his new life. His son Justin was stationed in Washington state so he would spend time in the Pacific Northwest to be near this family and traveled back down to the coast of Oregon to check in on Daniell. Eventually Glenn settled in Port Townsend as he had purchased the family home from his mother's estate. In Port Townsend he spent time working on his home, gardening, and getting acquainted with the community. He was finally able to give time and attention to his '64 Ford Falcon and after years of his dream sitting on the wayside, it was to become his reality.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; sister Janet Anderson; and brother Curtis Oman. He is survived by his children Kristina Ray, Justin Oman (Cathee) and Daniell Oman (Levi Cooley); his granddaughter Harmony Taliaferro; grandson Cole Oman; and granddaughter Morgan Oman. Also, sister Lynn Vetrone, brother Douglas Oman (Vicki), brother John Oman and sister Shannon Meehan (Patrick).

Glenn had a sense of humor, warm smile and was a kind, gentle soul. He was a spiritual man with a generous and selfless spirit, had strong faith and used God's Word to guide his steps in his daily life.

A celebration of life for Glenn will be considered at a future date but he will be celebrated every day.

Our dear one will be missed but will not be forgotten.
