The Quimper Geological Society will host David Williams, natural history writer and blogger, as the guest speaker at the group’s next meeting.
The society will hold an in-person and Zoom meeting at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18.
Williams will give the presentation, “Secrets of Seattle Geology – Connections of the human story and the geology story.”
He will discuss how Seattle is continually shown aspects of its geologic past, present, and future. His presentation will show whether it’s Washington’s landslides, glacier-carved topography, or its volatile volcanoes, this area’s geologic history is young, dynamic, and accessible.
The in-person talk will be the first for the society since COVID-19. It will be held at Port Townsend High School (1500 Van Ness St.). Doors open at 3:45 and the lecture begins at 4 p.m.
Register for the Zoom presentation or get more information at quimpergeology.org.
