Gallery-9’s featured artists for July are Ann Arscott and Sarah Fitch.
Arscott, a landscape painter, has been creating art since her childhood. This love has been with her as she traveled around the world to 125 different countries.
“I take thousands of photographs on my journeys,” she said in a press release.
“These are the jumping off places for my art.”
Her style features a strong Asian influence and her subject matter shows a connection to nature.
In July, Gallery-9 will display Arscott’s new sunrise and sunset paintings.
Fitch makes bas-relief stoneware ceramic tiles and sculptures.
With its whimsical and spiritual nature, her work is described as earthy folk art as she is attracted to the natural world around her.
Her trauma of heartbreak is poured into her work, offering a healing process while she creates highly detailed and meticulous pieces.
Gallery-9 will feature her tile and sculpture work through the month.
Gallery-9 is open from noon to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays. For more information, visit gallery-9.com.
