Far Reaches Farm recently welcomed plant guru Ciscoe Morris of radio show "Gardening with Ciscoe" fame for an afternoon of plant talk.
Ciscoe, as he's known, chatted Aug. 24 to more than 100 people from around the area about all sorts of plants – many of which were "his favorite" (though he said a Grevillea victoriae from Australia really made the final cut). He also answered gardening questions from the audience.
He regularly gave out plants to audience members at the free talk.
First, he'd ask a general question: "Does anyone have a mom who's over 90? Does anyone have a white cat?" And then would follow up with a gardening-specific question, or something silly – like what a cat would do if it were twice its normal size. (The answer: Eat us.)
Kelly Dodson of Far Reaches Farm said the "serious plant nut" is a good friend of his and partner Sue Milliken's, and has visited twice before.
Far Reaches Farm specializes in rare plants from around the world.
