From Oregon with love

Being my favorite place on the planet, even more so than the paradise where I live, I wanted to check in with The Leader to see how things were going in this troubled time. My heart sank when I read about the cases in the county and thinking about all the great restaurant employees who are laid off. I can only hope all the great people I see at Sirens, the Owl Sprit, and all the other places I like going are doing OK.

My heart especially sank when I learned of Aldrich’s closing. It was the best neighborhood market in America by far. I loved going in there, seeing what they were cooking up and picking up a few things to take back to the Swan Hotel with me. Truly sad that they were running on such a tight shoestring. It won’t be the same on my next trip.

I just want to say how lucky all of you are to live in PT. It is by far the best place I have ever found in my 65 years of living and traveling all over. You all are blessed with a very special place. If any good comes from all this, it’s a greater appreciation of what we all have. You’ll see me and my dog Buddy wandering the streets and the waterfront again. I can’t wait. No place makes me feel as good.
