Four additional cases of COVID-19 in Jefferson County were reported Tuesday afternoon by public health officials.

The new infections pushed the cumulative total of coronavirus cases in the county to 237.

The new cases reported Jan. 5 were traced to four mid-county residents; a woman in her 20s, a man in his 50s, a woman in her 60s, and a man over the age of 79.

Health officials announced that 22 people with COVID-19 remain in isolation.

A total of 65 residents were still awaiting COVID-19 test results late Tuesday.

County health officials reported Jan. 5 that 195 residents in the county have recovered from COVID-19. A total of 20 residents have been hospitalized after getting the coronavirus, and one death in Jefferson County has been attributed to the disease since the start of the pandemic. 

According to Jefferson County Public Health, a total of 15,926 tests have been administered for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 15,625 tests have come back negative.

Through Tuesday, 110 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 103 in mid-county residents; and 24 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).

Slightly more females than males have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in Jefferson County; 120 females have been confirmed with the coronavirus, and 117 males.
