Janet passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2022, at St. Peter's Hospital in Olympia at the age of 85 with her children at her side.

Janet was born in Rawlins, Kansas to Harry and Dresslo Trueblood. She was one of seven children and as one of the oldest and with her mother being sick, Janet was quickly thrown into the role of raising her younger siblings.

Janet was preceded in death by the love of her life, Monty Reeves; and middle son Doug.  She is survived by daughter, Jeanna; sons, Alan and Dale; mother-in-law and step father-in-law, Charlotte and Don; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her loyal black lab Thor.

Janet and Monty were long-time, second generation business owners of Reeves Hardware in Quilcene. They purchased the store from Monty’s parents, Byron and Frances. Together, they worked tirelessly six days a week to offer tremendous customer service, value and wisdom. Every customer was cherished and left with a personalized smile. Although she was a remarkable business owner, her proudest moment was raising four amazing children, dozens of talented grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her true passions were spending time with her immediate family and loved ones on and around the Quilcene Bay, gardening, adopting stray animals, and helping her friends in any way possible. She literally would do anything to help others in need.

Janet will be remembered for her dedication to the great Quilcene community as well as the Quilcene Presbyterian Church. For her ability to help others in need, a savvy business owner, as well as being an original Pioneer citizen. She will be missed by the entire Quilcene community.

We will be celebrating her life with a memorial at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 at the Quilcene Presbyterian Church, 294433 US-101 Quilcene, WA 98376.  A reception will immediately follow in the dining area. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Quilcene Firefighters Association, PO Box 433, Quilcene, WA 98376 (Phone 360-765-3333).
