On the November ballot, the residents of Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue (PLFR) will be asked whether to approve or reject Proposition 1, a merger of PLFR with East Jefferson Fire & Rescue (EJFR). The firefighters of Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue have voted unanimously to endorse the proposed merger of PLFR and EJFR and we ask you, the citizens we serve, to APPROVE Prop. 1.
Serving as a firefighter isn’t just a career choice but is a calling to public service. The men and women of PLFR that respond when you call strive to work daily to be trained, equipped, and in position when you need us. Evidenced by the benefits from our increased cooperation with EJFR through a shared training consortium, cross-staffing agreement, and management services inter-local agreement, we are convinced that a merger of the two agencies will best position us to serve you, the citizens of Port Ludlow and Jefferson County at large.
Please vote to approve Prop. 1.
Wicus McGuffey, President
