The Leader article on the Fort Worden PDA is unfortunate and unfair.
Due to the PDA’s status as a public entity, it did not receive any CARES Act funding. If the PDA had been eligible for PPP, at a similar level as the NW Maritime Center or Centrum (and many other local businesses), the PDA would not have found itself in such dire financial straits.
It is likely the PDA’s internal and external problems would not have happened.
It is so disappointing to see our local newspaper dissect and rip apart one of our community’s recent success stories and to make it so personal.
