Extraordinary times demand extraordinary leaders

Posted

Jefferson County is in uncharted waters, as the coronavirus has crippled the tourist industry, shuttered many small businesses and disrupted the supply chain for many local farms. People are working less or not at all and might fear becoming shelter or food insecure. We need extraordinary leadership as the true financial impacts of the pandemic become clearer – that is why I am pledging my support for Heidi Eisenhour for county commissioner in District 2.

Heidi has experience, effectively working in challenging times, whether it is during post-traumatic times of 9/11 or the last big recession in 2007-08.

I have known Heidi for more than 15 years. She is consistently a person you and I can rely on, who is even-tempered and grounded. She knows how to weigh the merits of a situation and mitigate risk. I trust Heidi to make hard decisions with current and future interests of her district and the county in mind.

Heidi will provide strong leadership for the economic future of our county while being mindful of the social implications of her decisions. She knows full well that our citizenry experiences life very differently, that there are those among us who lack suitable housing, are food insecure and for whom making a life without a living-wage job is utterly impossible. I trust Heidi to promote greater equity, compassion and fairness in our county.

Elect Heidi Eisenhour District 2 County Commissioner.
