Port Townsend’s local theater has done it again.

After a gripping production of "The People Downstairs," Key City Public Theatre has produced a winner with "Redd."

While described as a very loose adaptation of the Grimms tale of Little Red Riding Hood, KCPT packs much more into the 80 minutes of humor, pathos,  colonialism, clash of cultures,  racism,  definition of family, discovery of self and freedom.

If you recalled Tomiki Sage’s gymnastics in the Nutcracker, be prepared for more leaps and flips as he leads a frightened teen to her destiny. As a special treat, there is a thrilling swordfight with clashing, ducking and remarkable skill. Engaging entertainment in our own Port Townsend. How fortunate for us that the playwright, Kat Agudo, has made KCPT the venue for this world premiere.
