ELECTION LETTER: Putney cares about community; let him help port commission

Posted

I’m excited to see Bill Putney as a candidate for Port of Port Townsend commissioner race.

Who else has proven his dedication and contribution to the port and the community? He received the Heart of Service Award last year because of his incredible volunteer efforts.

He built our radio station KPTZ and remains its chief engineer. He was the project manager on the automated weather observation station (AWOS) at the airport and part of the emergency response team.

The AWOS project ensures that the county can get medical helicopters into PT regardless of the weather. It saves lives.

Head projectionist for the PT Film Festival, work for AAUW and Northwind Arts Center: It’s clear that he cares about our community and works hard to make it a better place.

And I haven’t even gotten to his background that proves he has the best experience to be our District 2 commissioner.
