ELECTION LETTER: Burke: The best choice for PUD

Posted

Living on the North Olympic Peninsula – or in any rural area – is a calculated risk. Essential resources such as power and water are more than a quality of life issue. Without effective governance, not only the resource infrastructure is at risk, but our business infrastructure, our social fabric and our way of life.

In the upcoming PUD election, I urge a vote for the candidate that has the 3 C’s – competency, character and commitment – to deliver on our shared vision of a resilient public power utility: Barney Burke.

A current PUD commissioner, VP of Energy Northwest and vice chair of the Port Townsend/Jefferson County Climate Action Committee, Barney has the leadership, industry and organizational knowledge and stewardship credentials to take the edge off living on the edge.

NINA BUROKAS
