Eight new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Jefferson County Wednesday, according to Jefferson County Public Health.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Jefferson County rose to 949 on Sept. 22.
Positive COVID test results were reported across the county; one in Port Townsend, six in the mid-county area, and one in south county.
Six of the new infections involved females; the other two involved males.
Fifty residents were still in active isolation Wednesday.
Test results from 51 residents were received by the health department Sept. 22.
A total of 76 test results are still pending, according to Jefferson County Public Health.
There have been 31,755 tests for COVID-19 in Jefferson County since the start of the pandemic, and 30,750 have resulted in negative results.
In Jefferson County, 681 people have recovered from COVID-19. (People are considered "recovered" at 28 days from the onset of symptoms if they are alive and not hospitalized, according to the state Department of Health.)
A total of 13 deaths of Jefferson County residents have been linked to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
