East Jefferson Little League all-stars in action

East Jefferson Little League teams and players are part of the Washington District 2 Little League baseball and softball tournaments.

East Jefferson hosted the District 2 junior and senior baseball tournaments at Bob Bates Field in Port Hadlock starting in late June. Here are all-star results as of July 6.


9-10 BASEBALL

The District 2 tourney for age 9-10 baseball is hosted by North Mason Little League in Belfair. East Jefferson opened July 5 with a 16-3 win over South Kitsap Eastern, and defeated North Kitsap National 11-1 on Monday afternoon.

EJLL advances to the nine-team tourney's semi-final at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 9; Thursday's winner makes the title game at 10:30 a.m. July 11; loser enters the consolation bracket at 6 p.m. July 10. See a tourney bracket link posted with this story on

JUNIOR BASEBALL

East Jefferson was one of three teams in the junior baseball tourney. EJLL lost 3-1 to South Kitsap Eastern on June 28, defeated North Mason 7-3 on June 29, and lost a championship game to South Kitsap Eastern 14-2 on June 30.


MAJOR SOFTBALL

Players from East Jefferson Little League and Port Townsend Little League are part of the East Jefferson/Sequim Major Girls softball all-stars.

East Jefferson/Sequim lost 18-7 to North Kitsap on June 24, defeated Key Peninsula 16-6 on June 26, and were eliminated June 27 with an 11-9 loss to North Kitsap. Gig Harbor went on to win the district title.


AGE 9-10 SOFTBALL

The Sequim Little League age 9-10 softball all-stars included one participant from East Jefferson: Akira Anderson. The team opened June 28 on Bainbridge Island with a 7-3 loss to Gig Harbor, followed by a 16-3 win over North Kitsap on June 29, and a season-ending 9-2 loss June 30 to Gig Harbor.


DISTRICT RESULTS

Washington District 2 Little League tournament results as of July 7 include:

Baseball: North Kitsap won intermediate, South Kitsap Eastern won juniors and Key Peninsula won seniors.

Softball: Gig Harbor won 9-10, Bainbridge Island won 10-11, Gig Harbor won majors, North Kitsap won juniors and Sequim won seniors.
