Dyrk W. Lansdon passed away on April 13, 2018 at the age of 88, after suffering a cardiac arrest at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton. He died with two of his daughters by his side.

Dyrk was born in Spokane, WA on December 31, 1929 to Floyd and Caroline Lansdon. He graduated from Washington High School in Portland, OR and served in the Army Reserve. After that he went to Oregon State University. He transferred to Lewis and Clark College after 3 years, where he received a BS in Business. He met his wife, Miriam, at Lewis and Clark and they were married in 1954. They moved to Bellevue in 1960 and raised their family of four children there. 

Dyrk became the owner of the Wright-Lansdon Company where he was a manufacturer’s representative. He took his growing family on numerous sailboat cruises to the San Juan Islands where many good memories developed. Their fourth child, Andy, tragically died in an automobile accident in 1979. Dyrk was a devoted father and provider, putting his three daughters through college.

In 1988 Dyrk sold his company and he and Miriam moved to Port Townsend. They built a home in North Beach and after a few years living there, had a house built in the Lynnesfield development. He had a volunteering spirit, being a lifelong member of Rotary. Some of the volunteering that Dyrk did included: Sea Scouts leader, Score Counselor, board member of United Good Neighbors, guardian ad litem, PT Community Center and Visitor Center. He was a good friend to many people. His friends and family will miss him dearly. He was able to live his life how he wanted until the very end, driving his car. 

Dyrk is survived by his 3 daughters Ann (Jay), Caroline (Mac), and MaryEllen (Ken), 6 grandchildren, and many friends. 

A celebration of his life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 1111 Franklin St. at 2 PM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the reception hall.
