Two medical evacuation helicopters were called in to airlift people who were hurt in a two-vehicle collision that occurred around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 and Leland Valley Road.

Brinnon Fire Chief Tim Manly said multiple people suffered injuries.

Emergency responders from the Brinnon Fire Department, Quilcene Fire Rescue, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash site.

As of 4:30 p.m. Monday, US 101 was still closed in both directions, and long delays are anticipated for traffic on the highway.
