Two additional cases of COVID-19 in Jefferson County were announced Thursday by public health officials as the number of coronavirus infections reached 200 locally.
The new cases reported Dec. 17 were traced to two mid-county men; one in his 30s and one in his 40s.
Health officials said nine people with COVID-19 remain in isolation.
A total of 49 residents are currently awaiting COVID-19 test results.
County health officials reported Thursday afternoon that 153 residents in the county have recovered from COVID-19. A total of 16 residents have been hospitalized after getting the coronavirus, and one death in Jefferson County has been attributed to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
According to Jefferson County Public Health, a total of 14,645 tests have been administered for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 14,396 tests have come back negative.
Through Thursday, 101 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 78 in mid-county residents; and 21 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).
Based on gender, the number of COVID-19 infections in Jefferson County is evenly split, with 100 females getting the disease, and 100 men.
