Four more Jefferson County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, public health officials announced late Wednesday.
The cumulative total of coronavirus cases in the county hit 241 on Jan. 6.
The new cases reported Jan. 6 were linked to four mid-county residents; a woman in her 40s, a woman in her 50s, a man in his 50s, and a man in his 60s.
A total of 58 residents were still awaiting COVID-19 test results late Wednesday.
Health officials also said 23 people with COVID-19 remain in isolation.
County health officials reported Jan. 6 that 197 residents in the county have recovered from COVID-19. A total of 20 residents have been hospitalized after getting the coronavirus, and one death in Jefferson County has been attributed to the disease since the start of the pandemic.
According to Jefferson County Public Health, a total of 16,001 tests have been administered for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 15,702 tests have come back negative.
Through Wednesday, 110 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 107 in mid-county residents; and 24 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).
Slightly more females than males have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in Jefferson County; 122 females have been confirmed with the coronavirus, and 119 males.
